7th September 1983 a referendum was held to add a "right to life of the unborn" to the Irish Constitution, legally blocking all abortion.

After decades of pro-choice campaigning, the amendment was repealed in 2018.

Barricades Bulletin was produces by the Derry Labour Party Young Socialists in August and September of 1969, during which Free Derry was barricaded to prevent British troops and B-Specials entering the area after the Battle of the Bogside.

21st of August 1984, a group of partners and children of striking miners visited Tallaght during the miners’ strike in Britain. The week-long trip was organised by the Tallaght Committee to Support Mine Workers, to give striking workers’ families a holiday.
